Pro article:
• Pageant participants learn grace, poise, self esteem, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. These are skills that will serve your child well regardless of what she chooses to do in the future.
• A child who is interested in a career in acting or modeling may find that pageant participation offers great exposure. For example, before becoming an award-winning actress, Halle Berry was crowned Miss Ohio and Miss Teen All-American.
• Many pageants for children offer college scholarships as prizes, providing a good way to save for your child's future educational expenses.
• Pageants can be a good bonding experience for families, offering the chance to travel, socialize, and spend time together.
Con article:
Most of the girls engaging in these pageants are too young to make informed and unbiased decisions about their participation. Many parents live vicariously through their children to fulfill their own dreams of being beauty queens. Even those who seemingly choose this hobby do so only because of the encouragement or pressure of their family to do so. Indeed young girls are too young to care about coiffed up-dos to the point of it being a contest. This competitiveness is the result of parental brainwashing.
After doing some research I have found there are a lot of articles against child pageants and not many for child pageants. But I have found a lot of videos and interviews of pro child pageants. I found two current TV shows, Little Miss Perfect and Toddlers in Tiaras. They are all for the child pageants! Here is a video from YouTube!

Having just finished my first I-Search paper I feel like I have learned a lot from this style of writing. My favorite part of the I-Search is being able to tell your story and how you found the needed information. I thought this made writing the paper much more exciting. I also loved being able to pick a topic that is something I enjoy. I didn’t feel like I was pulling hair to get words on the paper they flowed as if I were making a presentation. This relates to the world of novels which I already know about. I think that reading novels has helping me when writing a more story like paper, which is what I feel like my I-Search was. I have learned much about templates from the text “they-say-I-say” that I have not learned in other classes. I will take this book as well as the knowledge of how to use it with me on my journey through college writing. As I will hopefully get more familiar with MLA formatting, that is my biggest obstacle when completing the writing in my I-Search. I over came it by using sources on the internet such as, easybib.com and an MLA formatting book I borrowed from a friend. As a writer I have a lot to accomplish. I need to stay on subject with my papers and make sure the mid section containing most of the information, is larger than the introduction and conclusion. I also feel like I get bored when writing this section of the paper and my personality gets dull. These are a few things I need to improve on not including the MLA lessons I mentioned earlier. I will take many lessons from this class with me to other subject areas.
